This past week Luther and I did something different. Instead of our usual road trip to a Barnes & Noble bookstore, we went to visit the San Diego Humane Society. At first, Luther and I were not sure why we were going to visit these offices but when we got there a group of kids were waiting for us! Well, it turned out that we were the guest speakers for the last day at the San Diego Humane Society Animal Adventure Camp. Mom told me that this camp was where the kids learned all about animals including how to play and care for them. Genius! Entertaining and educational – that is Luther and I’s motto!
Luther and I got to meet all the kids. We love being petted and admired by kids. Our moms read some of our stories from our first book “True Tails from the Dog Park” and gave the kids a sneak peek at our soon to be published second book “True Tails II”. I was so proud of my Mom and Aunt Carey as they lead a Q&A session on the breed facts for bulldogs and puggles followed by an interactive section on Luther and I’s top ten lists about dog books and movies. The kids were great about trying to answer all these questions. They had some answers that we never thought of!
The final part of our visit was a run through the agility course. I did great except for the tunnel. I did not feel like going through it – it was too long! Luther decided to sit this activity out. Luther and I loved watching the kids run through the course after us. All in all, it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. Mom says we are going back next week to see a different group of campers. Maybe I will practice my agility skills so I can nail the tunnel this time!
