This week’s dog blog is all about moving. Recently my family moved into a new house. Sounds great, right? Well it is, but I also found it very confusing… First, there were all these boxes everywhere and all my stuff was slowly disappearing into them. So naturally, I started trying to hide my toys so they didn’t get packed away too! I am still looking for a couple of them. Mom says that moving with dogs is not easy and she is right about that! Next, strange people arrived and took all those boxes away. Mom sent me to daycare that day so I would not get in their way. I was fine with that because I love daycare. But when I came home that day, our place was almost empty. I was left with only my food bowl and bed. Where is everything? No couch, no toys, nothing. That was not cool at all!
The following day, I was sent back to daycare. Excellent! I can get used to going to daycare more often because there are always new dogs to meet and play with. Max goes to the same daycare too. If moving means I get to spend a lot of time at daycare, then I am all for it! But when Mom picked me up that day, we went to this strange new house filled with all those same pesky boxes. I could barely move around! There were also a lot of strange people in this house like a plumber and an electrician working on stuff and being really noisy. I finally found my crate and went inside to hang out because it seemed like the quietest place to be. For the next week or so, my brother Earl and I hung out in our crates and watched my Mom deal with all those strangers who kept coming and going. We also watched as those boxes were unpacked and slowly started to disappear. It was a crazy time.
I don’t quite understand why we moved and had to deal with all of that mess, but once things settled down I realized that this new house was pretty cool. This was definitely a “dog” friendly house. Earl and I finally have a proper backyard where we can roam around leash free. Mom leaves the back door open so we can go in and out and the patio is a perfect place to bask in the sun. There is even a slope in the back yard where Max can run up and down. I actually figured out how to get up there the other day so I could join him (don’t tell Dad!)
I love this new house so I guess it was all worth it in the end, but all things considered I would rather not move again!
