So the other weekend, my Mom and Aunt Carey had to go out of town for work and decided not to take Luther and I. Really? This was a first since usually Luther and I are part of these adventures. I did not even realize that I was not included in the trip until Mom failed to show up at doggie daycare to pick me up one day.
Now I usually go to my doggie daycare place once a week. Mom says daycare is a chance for me to play all day and have fun, but I am convinced that it is because she needs a break from me! Don’t get me wrong, I love my daycare place but I like coming home at the end of the day and sleeping in my own bed. I have had sleep overs before at daycare and I don’t really mind it. It is like a huge doggie sleepover party. We each have our own bed but I always prefer to snuggle on the couch with one of the daycare people. It is a good thing that they let me do that, because I confess I do have some separation anxiety when I am away from Mom. Daycare is the only place where when Mom drops me off I don’t object when she leaves me. I think it took Mom a while to find the right daycare place because there were a few other places that we tried before we found Camp Run-a-Mutt and I have been going there ever since. I also have recommended my daycare to my dog park friends too!
So after a few days of playing all day and snuggling at night with my daycare friends, Mom showed up to take me home. Man, I was really tired after all that fun! When she picked me up from daycare, they handed Mom my report card. Yes, I got a report card from my daycare! Mom loves to get the report card on my activities so she knows what I have been up to. The report card details out what I did over the course of my stay and never fails to make Mom laugh out loud. I just want you to know that I received an excellent report card and if I do say so myself I am a favorite at my daycare (did you expect anything else?).
My report card details the activities that I enjoy doing at daycare such as playing with other dogs, hanging out with the Camp staff and perching on the tables in the yard. Everyone knows that I like to climb things! The report card also talks about my temperament which is playful, observant, social and mellow. I did tell you that I was a favorite at daycare! The report card also includes details on which dogs are my special friends and how I did overnight. I am happy to report I made a few new friends on this stay and had no issues sleeping overnight!
Mom loves the fact that the daycare people know me so well and that I am such a good boy away from home. She always saves my report card too! I am an only child after all…..
